mini skin care reviews (tula, pixi, unicorn glow)

Lately, a few new-to-me products have been in rotation. I wanted to take my time with them and really see how these items performed over a longer period of time rather than share initial thoughts. Without further ado, find out how the Tula Skincare Purifying Face Cleanser, Pixi Clarity Cleanser, and Unicorn Glow Long Wear Primer performed with these mini reviews….

As mentioned, these mini reviews are focused on some products from Tula Skincare, Pixi, and Unicorn Glow.

  • Tula Skincare The Cult Classic Purifying Face Cleanser. This is a skin care product that I have heard a fair bit about over the last while. Someone that I follow on Instagram really enjoys the Purifying Face Cleanser from this brand, so it was certainly on my radar. Actually being able to put it to use has made it clear to me why this product is beloved. It has a nice scent, foams well, and leaves my skin feeling really soft. Additionally, it doesn’t dry out my skin, which is a plus, because my skin can be really dry, especially on the forehead. That being said, if you are someone who prefers fragrance free products, this is unlikely to be the ideal cleanser for you. The scent is one that I like, but it is fairly strong, so be sure to keep that in mind before you make a decision to purchase!
  • Pixi Clarity Cleanser. Next is the Clarity Cleanser from Pixi. This is a brand that I have used in the past, but the cleanser itself is new to me. This is intended to deep clean and purify. To be honest, this is not my favourite cleanser. I will continue to use it until the bottle is finished, but this is not something that I can see myself repurchasing. It leaves my skin feeling fine and does the job decently, but the smell is not for me. It is really strong and overpowering. The first time that I used the cleanser, my head ached afterward, so whatever scent that is clearly does not agree with me. However, if the scent doesn’t bother you, this would be a decent option.
  • Unicorn Glow Long Wear Primer. The last mini review is for a primer from Unicorn Glow. There are a few different primers that I have used over the years (the Hard Candy primer is excellent and so is the PoreFessional from Benefit) but I am always open to another that works well. This sample version of the Unicorn Glow Long Wear Primer was nice to put to the test. It has a nice smooth texture and adds hydration to the skin. This is a good option when my skin is especially dry or troublesome. It also makes my foundation last longer. Overall, this primer works well and has only a light scent. It is something I would consider purchasing a full-sized version of in future.
