revisited review: love is love palette (danessa myricks beauty)

Happy Pride Month! The world seems to be worse than usual lately, but that highlights why it is so important to celebrate Pride Month and Pride Season. This is a time to honour the past and celebrate the resilience of the LGBTQQIP2SAA community. It is a time to remember, reflect, and look ahead. My hope is that this world we live in will stop being so regressive and divisive. My hope is that the best days are still out in front of us. This month, do what you can to show your support, learn more, and make the world a better place for all. In honour of this important celebration, it seemed only right to create a colourful makeup look using the Love Is Love Illuminating Eye and Face Pigments palette from Danessa Myricks Beauty. Here is a revisited review…

Here is a reminder of what the Love Is Love Illuminating Eye and Face Pigments palette from Danessa Myricks Beauty looks like. It was added to my makeup collection around this time last year and is something that I have reached for semi-regularly since. Whenever I want a bold and colourful makeup look…this is an ideal choice. Though this was a limited edition release (and is listed as sold out on the brand website) it is still available on the Sephora website. The eye and face pigments palette was created to “celebrate the LGBTQ+ community and all forms of love,” making it a must year-round but especially at this time of year. It is always meaningful to support brands that are inclusive. And it helps that the colours in this palette are fabulous.

This is an eyeshadow palette that I have put to use many times over the last year or so. Above are two different makeup looks featuring the Love Is Love Illuminating Eye and Face Pigments palette. The first was from a few months back (hence the dark hair) and it made the most of the blue and green shadows. A bit of the black shade, Limitless, was added to the outer corner to turn a colourful look into something smokey. The second makeup look (which is a little more recent) featured a little of everything, including the gold, pink, purple down the center and the glittery highlight shades, Freedom and Worthy.

There is a lot to love about this palette. The colours down the center are boldly pigmented and really make a statement. I love to use those when I am in the mood for a colourful (and shimmery) makeup look. The glittery cheek products are a quick and easy way to add a little something special to a look. The white shimmer, Ally, is wonderful for the inner corner and underneath the brow bone, and Truth is a great one-shadow shade. I love to use that one when I am short on time but still want a makeup look that wows. Though it would be nice if the DREAM shadows down the center of the palette were larger and separated, the product itself is out of this world amazing. It’s been almost a year and this Danessa Myricks Beauty release is still stellar.

Do you like to create colourful makeup looks? How are you honouring Pride Month?
