welcome summer + colourful seasonal makeup look

Hello summer! It is official. The summer season has arrived. For a lot of people, this is the best time of the year. School is out, the sun is shining, and there are fun seasonal activities to enjoy. Though I am looking forward to a few events over the next couple of months, my heart is dreaming of fallen leaves, crisp air, and sweater weather. I am definitely a fall and winter kind of person. Ahh well. Fingers crossed this summer will be a great one anyway. To welcome in a fresh new season, it only made sense to incorporate a little colour into a recent makeup look. The Pro Pigment Palette Volume 3 from the ABH Norvina Collection is bright, bold, and ideal for this time of year. Keep reading for a mini review and sunshine inspired makeup look.

Talk about colour! The summer season is the ideal time to be more playful with beauty products. When it comes to makeup, mine tends to be a little darker in the fall, glittery in the winter, and soft in the spring. When summer rolls around? It is all colour all the time. That makes this particular palette an ideal choice. As you can see, there is a lot of variety. There are oranges, yellows, purples, greens, and a handful of warm browns to tie it all together. I like that there are both mattes and shimmers included…and that the colours are all really pigmented. This eyeshadow palette makes is easy to be bold.

Since summer is all about the sunshine and warm weather, it was the orange colours in this Pro Pigment Palette Volume 3 that stood out most to me. I wanted to really embrace all that the summer season has to offer. (Though the greens in this palette were also really intriguing. Next time!) To create the makeup look above, A5 (bright matte orange) was applied on the inner portion of the lid and D4 (shimmery burnt orange) was applied on the rest of the eyelid. E2 (purple-toned brown) was applied through the crease and then D1 (warm medium brown) was used to blend it all out. I loved the combination of mattes and shimmers and how well the colours worked in harmony. The end result was something bright, warm, and seasonally inspired.

One thing is certain: now that the summer season has arrived, my makeup is about to get a whole lot brighter. This time, it was all about the orange eyeshadows in the ABH Norvina Collection palette. Next time, those gorgeous greens are on my radar. After that, those pinks and reds will likely be the ideal choice. There are so many options and I plan to make the most of them.
