I've tried a handful of Quo Beauty products over the years. Standouts include their makeup brushes and some of the Pride Collection items. Despite testing out a few items from Quo Beauty in the past, I am not overly familiar with the brand offerings, since items are tried on a rather sporadic basis. However, every now and then, I attend an event or receive different beauty samples with purchase, and am able to try out an assortment of products. More recently, that included some Quo Beauty lip products. Want to find out how these perform? Here are some mini reviews of the Lip Boost Plumping Gloss and Lipstick.
I love makeup. I love Disney. Put them together? It is an unbeatable match. When the All Eyes on Minnie Palette from Revolution was at Winners (always Winners...what can I say...I love a good deal) for $9 CDN, it only made sense to add it to my cart. Though I didn't know what the palette would actually look like or what colours were, it was Minnie Mouse inspired, and that was enough. Curious about this face and eye palette? It is time to end this theme week here on Mansa Fashion. with a Disney inspired makeup review. Here is everything you need to know about the All Eyes on Minnie Palette.
Finding a good concealer is difficult. Finding a good concealer to replace an old favourite? Even more difficult. I absolutely adore the Hard Candy Glamoflauge Full Coverage Concealer, but it is becoming harder and harder for me to find. At the stores around me, the Hard Candy displays have either been removed or reduced, and there are rarely a lot of products to choose from. I stock up whenever it is possible to do so, but I never know whether it will or will not be available. Talk about frustrating! My husband suggested I try something from another brand so I have a different option, should the Glamoflauge Full Coverage Concealer not be available. After browsing the displays at the drugstore, it was the Elf 16 Hr Camo Concealer that I decided to purchase. How does it compare? And is it a viable alternative for my beloved Hard Candy concealer? Hard Candy and the holidays are a perfect match. For many years now, there have been Hard Candy holiday themed items added to my collection during the month of December...and this year was no different. There is a lot to love about Hard Candy in general. The brand offers some stellar products for pretty affordable prices. Their holiday releases are especially easy on the wallet. The three sets above ranged from $5 CDN to $10 CDN. Ready to take a closer look at these budget friendly products? Find out whether these Hard Candy holiday sets perform well? Here is everything you need to know about these items...
Even though Barbie The Movie has been out for almost two months now...my mind is still focused on all things Barbie. At this point, the movie has broken record after record. This movie is a big deal. And thank goodness for that! Not only is it colourful, vibrant, and nostalgic, it also speaks to gender roles and societal expectations. It is a beautiful film that is both fun and meaningful. I have seen the movie five times, but cannot wait to own it so I can watch it as often as I like. Until then, I am making the most of the movie collaborations and collections. Take the Barbie x NYX collection as an example. I've already reviewed the It's a Barbie Party Mini Palette and now it is time to take a look at the Jumbo Eye Pencil set. It included two different jumbo eye pencils inspired by some iconic Barbie characters. Keep reading for all of the details...
Though most of the blushes in my collection are powder, there have been a few liquid and cream blushes used every now and then. (Like the Rare Beauty liquid blush that wowed and the Ciate London cream blush set.) Most recently, I have been able to try the Super Dewy Liquid Blush from Revolution in the shade Flushing For You. Since the Rare Beauty liquid blushes are a little more on the expensive side (approximately $32 CDN), I was curious to find out how a drugstore brand would compare. Ready to find out whether the Revolution version was worthwhile? Keep reading for a full review of the Super Dewy Liquid Blush.
Well, the lip products theme week is wrapping up here on Mansa Fashion. Over the last several days, there have been all sorts of different lipsticks, lip stains, and balms featured. Now? It is time to talk about the NYX Shine Loud High Shine Lip Color, which is described as a high-shine, long-lasting lip gloss. Apparently, this has been creating lots of buzz on TikTok, but that is not something that I can speak to. Honestly? I don't have TikTok and have no plans for it, considering the degradation and abuse that can spread like wildfire on the platform. There are so many issues with social media sites and user-created content apps. The amount of misinformation out there...the creators who profit off of pain...it really bothers me. Though I still use social media and consume certain types of content, it is something that I try to be very mindful about these days. On a happier note, there is always makeup. Here is everything you need to know about the NYX lip product that is generating buzz.
Makeup has always felt powerful to me. It was a way for me to express my internal world externally. Or at least try to! Since I have always been very shy and socially anxious, discovering makeup made me feel like I had a voice. If I was a little more moody...extra black eyeshadow instantly made me feel better. If I was hopeful...a colourful blush let the whole world know. There was power in those products, in those moments of creation, and in those small expressions of self. To this day, makeup has a very special place in my heart. It matters, and sometimes, it even tells my story. Lately, I have been thinking a lot about makeup and beauty. I've read and re-read this interview, featuring a personal hero of mine, many times. Her words are so true. "Beauty is, and has always been, what you make it...Beauty can be power. You don't have to be wearing makeup to feel powerful, but my God, if red lipstick makes you feel powerful or makeup you feel a little bit more empowered that day, then it is your damn right to do so." I love this attitude and it really inspired my posts for this week. Yes, it is time for another theme week. All of the posts on Mansa Fashion. this week will be focused on different lip products. I guess I am looking for items that make me feel powerful and strong.. Ones that reflect all the best parts of who I am. Here goes...
This elf eyeshadow quad has been sitting in my beauty room waiting to be used. Though it was purchased several months back...it was something that I wanted to make the most of during the summer months. It just had the perfect summer vibe. I love the warm beachy colours and the 70s inspiration. The Good Vibes Only collection has a bunch of different products (and different eyeshadow quads) but Hello Sunshine was the one that caught my eye. It was really affordable at only $5 CDN and was simply too fabulous to overlook. Here is everything you need to know about this current summer obsession.
Every now and then, a mascara manages to tempt me. Though I am pretty loyal to The Super Sizer from Cover Girl (higher end favourites include Better Than Sex from Too Faced and They're Real from Benefit)....the Big Mood Mascara from elf managed to catch my eye. Maybe it had something to do with the shiny purple packaging. Who knows? But at any rate, this drugstore item was added to my cart. Lately, I have been putting this mascara to the test to find out whether it lives up to the brand claims.
A lot of different brands have been introduced at the drugstore lately. Some of these brands may have been available online only before or were not available in Canada previously. Whatever the reasons for their inclusion may be...it is nice to see a wider selection of offerings. While at Shoppers Drug Mart, there were a few new-to-me brands that caught my eye. One was Black Radiance. There were a lot of beautiful products available for darker skin colours, which was really refreshing to see at the drugstore. (A lot of other brands sold at the drugstore have a very limited selection when it comes to foundations and concealers. Definitely not okay.) Though there was a lot to choose from, it was the lip products that really wowed. For instance, a black lipstick and a metallic lipstick. Since the prices were affordable...it seemed like a no brainer.
Sometimes, it is possible to find noteworthy makeup for a whole lot less. A few months back, there were a handful of limited edition Cover Girl products at the local dollar store. Talk about exciting! I am no stranger to Cover Girl makeup. In fact, it is one of the earliest brands that I can remember purchasing. Over the years, their products have continued to wow. The standouts are definitely their mascaras (specifically The Super Sizer) and eyeshadows (the TruNaked shadows are fabulous). Another standout? The Katy Perry inspired Katy Kat line of products. This was released several years back...but for whatever reason there were some Katy Kat Palettes at the dollar store recently. Cool Kat came home with me and it has been a whirlwind love affair ever since. Curious about this drugstore palette? Here is everything you need to know about this current obsession.
