Spring is officially here! Normally, I am the kind of person who holds tightly onto the last remaining days of winter, but this year, it feels like a change of season is in order. Yes, it is time for sunshine, flowers, and warmer temperatures. I am looking forward to walks with my husband and even some overdue cleaning tasks. (It just isn't spring without a bit of spring cleaning on the to do list.) Something else that piques my interest? Spring fashion trends for 2024. Here are a few favourites. 

Sometimes, memories appear on my Facebook page or I will come across photos on my computer from years past. One thing is clear: my fashion choices have certainly changed! I used to wear a lot of cute blouses, dresses, and high heels. Though at my core, I am a t-shirt and jeans person, there was a time in my life when getting glam was a lot of fun for me. For special events, like a concert or a night out with friends, I would spend a lot of time and energy putting together the perfect outfit. Finding the perfect accessories. It was a wonderful form of self expression. I have to be honest...a lot changed for me when the COVID-19 pandemic happened. For starters, there was no leaving the house. No concerts, no seeing friends, no seeing family, no nothing. A few months into the pandemic, my job changed as well. I was fortunate enough to find my dream job, which involved writing, helping others, and working from home. Since I was now working from home and not leaving the house, slowly, I transformed into a human sweatpant. Though it is 2024 at this point, I haven't transitioned out of being a human sweatpant. Part of me misses those more glamorous looks...and part of me loves embracing comfort. I suppose it makes sense to meet in the middle somewhere. Until that happens, it only makes sense to highlight my current (oh-so-comfy) fashion obsession. 

Fall is an exciting season for a lot of reasons. For starters, the cooler temperatures are always a relief after a hot and muggy summer. Then there is the fashion to consider. Once the fall season rolls around, I am usually a plaid button down and cozy sweater kind of person...but there are all sorts of exciting seasonal trends to enjoy as well. I remember the first time that I heard Katy Perry on the radio. Her unique voice immediately struck a chord and it wasn't long before I was a full blown Katy Kat (aka a Katy Perry fan). In the years since, I have continued to be a fan of hers and have posted about her music, makeup, perfume, and accessories on Mansa Fashion. many times. Now? It is time to talk about her shoe collection. I had seen pictures of various collections online in the past and thought the designs were super adorable. When my mom gifted me the Summer Ballet Flat recently (which E! News included on a list of Katy Perry Collections shoes needed to "complete your summer wardrobe")...it was exciting to say the least. The last little while has been difficult. Everyone said that COVID was like a cold or a flu, but that has certainly not been my experience. It has been difficult and long lasting. Even still, I am not feeling back to normal. Thankfully, there have been little things making my life happier lately. When you aren't feeling well...those small comforts mean the most. Recently, she was in Rome to promote the new television series, Citadel, and once again made a fashion statement. (For the record, I am far more excited about her new movie, Love Again, than Citadel, but it is entirely possible that I will watch both.) Ready for another installment of love it or leave it? Outlet shopping is always a good idea. Especially when the deals are outstanding. As mentioned in my last blog post, I recently visited Niagara Falls to see Clay Aiken perform for a few days. On the first day there, my mom and I went to do a little outlet shopping at an outdoor mall. Though there weren't a lot of impressive stores, there were two that were out-of-this-world fantastic. One was an Urban Planet outlet store (that had clothes and accessories from a variety of similar stores, like Urban Planet, Wet Seal, Forever 21) and the other was an American Eagle outlet. The Canada One Outlet Mall had other options as well, but my purchases came from those places. Here is a closer look at all of the discounted finds that came home with me.

It is almost time. The snow outside is starting to melt and allegedly spring is already here. (Though there is a forecast for more snow in the next few days, so who knows!) When the weather is nice, my husband and I sometimes take walks when he comes home from work. This is something that started during the pandemic. There wasn't really anywhere else to go...so we would walk around the neighborhood for an hour or so. Last year, a trail opened up nearby, so we started to walk there instead. With the promise of spring on the horizon, my mind is focused on the return of our walks. Not only is this good for my physical health, but it is also nice to spend a little extra time together. My interest in fashion has certainly changed over the years. In the past, there was something inexplicably exciting about seasonal trends. Every few months, there was a new "it" colour and a new "cool" style that could be incorporated into my wardrobe. Though not all of the fashion trends matched my personal preferences, there were always at least one or two that stood out. Then the pandemic happened. Well, long story short, I now lovingly refer to myself as a human sweatpant. Working from home means fabulously comfortable clothes. Leaving the house less often means there are very few opportunities to get my fashion on. Even when the opportunity does arise these days, I find myself reaching for more comfortable and laid back options out of habit. What is a human sweatpant to do? Get inspired. It has been about three years since the start of the pandemic and only now am I looking for a healthy dose of fashion inspiration. There are lots and lots of spring trends for 2023. From styles to fabrics, accessories, and colours, there is a whole lot to choose from. These are a few of my favourites. 

Stuck in the 00s? Most definitely. I have to admit, it is kind of strange seeing the brands and trends that I love come back into style again. Even though Juicy Couture tracksuits and accessories were considered 'uncool' a few short years ago...they have suddenly become popular once more. This is excellent news for me, because I never stopped wearing any of it. I still have my Juicy Couture tracksuits, shirts, purses, and bracelets from the 00s! While I appreciate trends and think they are a lot of fun, at the end of the day, I wear what I like. If something I like is no longer trendy, that doesn't mean that I throw it all away. After all, fashion is not just about wearing the latest and greatest. It's about what makes you feel like your absolute best self. Thankfully, this Juicy Couture resurgence makes it a whole lot easier to find new items from the brand and fill in some gaps. Ready to take a peek at some Juicy Couture shoes? Every now and then, it just feels good to add a new pair of shoes to the closet. A lot of my shoes have become worn out and needed to be replaced. Especially a lot of my slip-on style shoes. So, when I happened to see the Sketchers Rainbow Rhinestone Slip-Ons with Air-Cooled Memory Foam, it seemed like a no brainer. Not only did they have a fun and colourful design, but they also were ultra comfortable. Even better? These rainbow shoes were found at Winners for a fraction of the original retail price. I always love a bargain...especially one that doesn't sacrifice style and comfort.
