The minions kind of have a special place in my heart. When my husband and I first started dating, we quickly realized that there wasn't a lot of overlap in the kinds of movies that we liked. He was into action movies and superhero movies while I was into comedies, musicals, horror movies, romantic movies, and other such things. However, the minions were something we could both agree on. We have watched all of the Despicable Me and Minion movies released...and have some random minion merchandise scattered around our home. The adorable yellow characters are funny, silly, and beloved. Well, it was exciting to see my love of all things minion collide with my love of all things beauty, with the Vita-C Hydrogel Eye Patches from TonyMoly. I was instantly excited to try out the minion themed eye patches for myself. So....does it work?? It is time to find out.
Hard Candy and the holidays are a perfect match. For many years now, there have been Hard Candy holiday themed items added to my collection during the month of December...and this year was no different. There is a lot to love about Hard Candy in general. The brand offers some stellar products for pretty affordable prices. Their holiday releases are especially easy on the wallet. The three sets above ranged from $5 CDN to $10 CDN. Ready to take a closer look at these budget friendly products? Find out whether these Hard Candy holiday sets perform well? Here is everything you need to know about these items...
Christmas time is here. Happiness and cheer. Fun for all that children call their favourite time of year. Peanuts and the holiday season have long gone hand in hand, thanks to the iconic Christmas special, "A Charlie Brown Christmas." So, it is no surprise that makeup brands would want to release Peanuts themed products during the holiday season. Last year, Wet n Wild did just that, with a collection that included blush palettes, beauty blenders, and all sorts of other themed items. At that time, I was able to find the Merry Christmas, Charlie Brown Eyeshadow Palette. (That eyeshadow palette has been in heavy rotation for the past year.) When I was in the England recently on a shopping trip, I came across another Peanuts x Wet n Wild product. This time, it was the What Christmas Is All About 3-Piece Multi-Stick Set. Does it work?? It is time to find out.
Travel can be fun...but it can also be stressful. Especially when it comes to packing. Full confession: I am terrible at it. My husband normally asks me whether I remembered to pack certain items, like makeup wipes or toothpaste or contact solution. Despite his best efforts to assist me, I am always forgetting something essential. Recently, my husband and I went on a little weekend getaway, and I managed to forget eyeliner. Eyeliner! My must have beauty item! It was a disaster, so we had to find a suitable (and affordable) temporary option. I found a two-pack of the Billion Dollar Beauty Liquid Eyeliner. So...does it work??
I used to love a good lip stain. There was a period of time where the Benefit Bene-Tint was my everything. I used it all the time and purchased all sorts of different colours. The stains worked on the lips and the cheeks....and I loved having a makeup product that I knew would stay put. To this day, I enjoy a good lip stain, because it means I don't have to worry about product moving or transferring. It is a low maintenance kind of product and that can be really appealing. That being said, I haven't purchased a tint from Benefit in many years now. There is no reason exactly. I suppose as lots and lots of other products were added to my collection, it just sort of slipped my mind to do a repurchase. (Though now that I am thinking about it...I absolutely just browsed the Benefit website to see what colours were available. Oops!) A little while back, I received a sample of the Clarins Water Lip Stain. I can't quite remember where this sample came from, but nonetheless, it has been waiting for me to put to good use. Finally, I have been able to test out the Water Lip Stain for myself and see how it compares to previous tints that I have tried. Ready to find out if it works? If it is similar or better than the Bene-Tint? Keep reading...
I have a weakness for all things neon. Especially when the summer months roll around. There is something so fun, so exciting, so bright about neon colours. If you ask me, neon has a way of making the world seem a little happier and more hopeful, which is always a good thing. Of course, when I saw the LA Colors Color Craze Gel Nail Polish on the shelves, it was impossible to resist. Not only was it affordable ($3.50) but it was also a vibrant and playful neon green. It was a simple decision to add it to my cart. So...does it work?? Here is everything you need to know about this ultra vibrant nail polish from LA Colors.
There are many, many, many celebrity collaborations these days. Especially in the beauty space. It seems that every brand is interested in partnering with an actress, social media star, or singer. I suppose it makes sense, because it creates a lot more visibility. Take Juice Beauty as an example. This is not a brand that I was familiar with before, but because of their collaboration with Kate Hudson (who I adore)...a product from their line was gifted to me by a loved one. According to Juice Beauty, the collaboration was "inspired by a longstanding relationship and mutual love of clean beauty, wellness, and environmentalism." Makes sense! Lately, I have been putting the Kate Hudson x Juice Beauty Revitalizing Acacia and Rose Powder Mask to the test. This skin care product is cruelty free, vegan, and has certified organic ingredients...but does it work? Keep reading to find out.
I've tried many different lip scrubs over the years. Some worked well, some were too abrasive, and some didn't do much at all. Fairly recently, my mom gave me some products from the Anew Vitamin C line, including the Vitamin C Smoothing Lip Scrub. Since I was in desperate need of a new lip scrub, it was perfect timing. But the question remains...does it work?? It is time to find out. Here is everything you need to know about this Vitamin C themed lip scrub from Anew.
Some days are meant for face masks. Lots on your to do list? Exhausted by the end of the night? There is no better way to treat yourself than with a little skin care. Face masks tend to be a quick and easy way to pamper yourself and give your skin a little bit of a boost. Recently, I tried the Oh K! Hyaluronic Acid Hydrogel Mask with Vitamin B3 and Sea Kelp. This mask is designed to hydrate and plump the skin. Sounds appealing, right? I've tried a few other products from Oh K! in the past. To be honest, some have been good and some have been a little lackluster. Ready to find out how this particular skin care item performed? If it lives up to the claims? Here is everything you need to know about this hydrogel mask from Oh K!
Sometimes, my hair needs a little extra TLC. That has certainly been true lately! I had my hair professionally coloured for the first time not too long ago...and it's definitely been a struggle to keep it looking and feeling its best since then. I've been using colour safe shampoos, lots of conditioners, and masks. More recently? I've been putting the Ouai Detox Shampoo to the test. It is a clarifying shampoo that is designed to clear away dirt, oil, and product buildup. It is suitable for all hair types and is colour safe. Wondering how this performed? Here is everything you need to know about this high-end shampoo.
Forehead wrinkles. Ahh...how I loathe them! While most people develop wrinkles and lines over time, my forehead has had lines on it for as long as I can remember. Kids at school would scrunch up their foreheads and the lines would disappear as soon as they stopped. Mine didn't disappear. They were always visible. I don't know if the forehead lines are the result of my dry skin or genetics...but it is something that I have been self-conscious about for a very long time. Over the years, I have tried an awful lot. Moisturizers, lotions, serums, and everything in between. Nothing seems to make a significant or noticeable difference in the appearance of those forehead lines. No matter what I seem to do, they remain.
Headaches happen. This is the unfortunate reality for many of us. Some people deal with painful migraines, others have the occasional headache, a tension or stress related headache, or even barometric pressure headaches. My headaches tend to be linked to changes in the weather. Which means, they don't happen all the time...but they do occur every now and then. For instance, when the seasons were shifting between fall and winter, it was a real struggle. Especially this year! The temperatures went up and down, up and down, up and down. There was no real consistency and it seriously impacted my day-to-day life. My best friend struggles with migraines and has always raved about the Saje Peppermint Halo Headache Remedy. It was something that I planned to look into but never did. For Christmas this year, she gifted me one. This was such a thoughtful gift. One that has come in handy a few times already! Ready to find out more? And see if it really works? Here goes...
