It is always hard to know what makeup items to take on a vacation. There need to be tried, tested, and true products on hand…but there also needs to be enough variety available so makeup still feels fun, creative, and expressive. To end this Walt Disney World theme week here on the creation of beauty is art. it seemed only right to highlight the different beauty products that I took with me on my recent vacation. Here it is, from primers to setting spray and everything in between.

To start, there were some much loved priming products. I took the Clinique Moisture Surge with me because not only is it a good product, it was a good size for travel. I also took what little remains of my Hard Candy Smoothing Primer Balm. (I stocked up previously, but am now reaching the end of what I have. I haven’t been able to find more, so my guess is that it is has been discontinued by the brand. Isn’t that always the way? Sigh.) I also took the Too Faced Hangover RX Replenishing Face Primer and the VDL Expert Color Primer For Eyes. With the high temperatures in Florida, it was extra important to choose products that would help my makeup stay put from morning until night. It was not possible to skip out on the primers given the heat.

Now for some of the face products that I brought. Since I decided to use the Jergens Natural Glow Daily Moisturizer ahead of the vacation, there were two different shades of the L’Oreal Pro Glow Foundation brought with me as well as two different shades of the Glamoflauge concealer from Hard Candy. I also brought along the Maybelline Matte Mouse Foundation, a pressed powder from Cover Girl, and the All Nighter Setting Spray from Urban Decay. I wanted to make sure I had lots of options so my bases would be covered even if I did not find time to maintain my fake tan – and that my makeup stayed put.

Two eyebrow products came with me on this Walt Disney World Vacation: the Eyebrow Designer Eyebrow Pencil from Essence and the Goof Proof Brow Pencil from Benefit. These eyebrow products are effective and easy to use. For eyeliner, it was some trusted favourites like the Epic Ink Liner from NYX and the Kohl Eyeliner Pencil from Annabelle. For the lashes, the Lash Without Limits Extreme Lengthening and Volume Mascara from Essence won out. Though the wand is not my favourite, the actual mascara works really well. I have been enjoying this one a lot lately and have repurchased it a few times.

As soon as I tried the different products from The Breakfast Club collection that Physicians Formula released, it was obvious that at least one of the face palettes needed to come with me on this vacation. I chose the Volume 2 version, because of the deeper blush colours. I love that this had two bronzers and two blush shades to choose from. I didn’t use the highlights during the trip, because the weather was so ridiculously hot. My fear was that a well placed highlight would simply make me look sweaty in the photographs, so the focus was on bronzer and blush. The two lip products shown above were the Winky Lux Flower Balm pH Lip Balms that I love so much. The lip balms are comfortable, add colour, and do not need to be touched up.

Lastly, the eyeshadow. It is always tricky to decide what eyeshadow palettes to take away on a vacation, but I decided that I wanted to focus on mostly warm colours. I chose the Being Bad Feels Pretty Good Eyeshadow Palette from The Breakfast Club collection, because of all the warm colours and beautiful shimmers. I also loved the different purple eyeshadows. To make sure there was enough variety, it was The Classic Matte Palette from Kylie Cosmetics that was chosen. That way, there were both shimmer and matte eyeshadows to choose from. Taking the two different eyeshadow palettes with me made it possible to switch up my makeup look each day based on the outfit that I was wearing and my mood. There was just enough variety.
What beauty products do you like to take with you on vacation? Have you tried any of these items?
